Belmopan couples shot in home invasion; brothers die, their spouses injured

By Aaron Humes: A quadruple shooting on New Year’s Eve night in Belmopan left two brothers dead and their spouses injured, according to police.

David Ramnarace, 29 and his partner Yemi Alberto, 28, had gone to visit older brother Jon, 38, and his wife Vivian at their residence on Belen Street Extension and while they were together, one armed man in full black, wearing a light on his head ran into the yard and shot both men, then entered the house and shot both women.

Neighbours in the area transported three of the four victims to Belmopan’s Western Regional Hospital. Jon Ramnarace was pronounced dead at the scene while David died at the hospital.

Vivian Ramnarace remains alive after being operated on at the Western Regional Hospital. Yemi Alberto is listed there as well in stable condition.
