Ministry of Housing hands over houses to Pickstock Division residents Mavis Bernardez, Brian Ortiz

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) handed over houses to Pickstock Division residents Mavis Bernardez and Brian Ortiz at the end of 2022.

“Former Pickstock Division residents Mavis Bernardez and Brian Ortiz are new homeowners in Lord’s Bank and Sandhill villages, respectively,” the Government of Belize Press Office said on Tuesday.

“They received the keys to their homes in December 2022, but this post today is a reminder that the work continues. The Government of Belize through the MIDH has a busy year ahead in fulfilling its goal of impacting lives through social programs.”

On December 31, the MIDH said Bernardez received the keys to her house just in time for the New Year.

“The smile on her face says it all. At the MIDH, we don’t get distracted by politics – not for something as important and impactful as this project. When we hand over a house, it is one that will serve our people well, because they deserve nothing but the best from us. That philosophy is shared by Anthony Mahler, who has nothing but love for his people and would not tolerate anything but the best,” the MIDH said in a social media post.
