ComPol disgusted with circulation of video showing Belmopan double murder; says police did not share it

By Benjamin Flowers: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams expressed his disgust at the sharing of a surveillance video that showed the gruesome murder of Jon and David Ramnarace.

Williams, speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday reiterated a previous sentiment that he made over the weekend, chiding media houses that decided to share the unedited video, which shows both men being callously gunned down.

“I have an issue with the one that was released, I think it was too graphic and it can certainly affect the victims psychologically,” Williams said. “I just think that, as the media, you all need to be more responsible. Maybe they could have blurred it or something, but they just put it out raw.”

He noted that police have obtained several surveillance videos; however, they will not be made public.

“From my investigation, the video that was out there was not released by the police,” Williams added.
