Sixty-eight-year-old-man charged with handling stolen $50 bill

By Breaking Belize News Staff: An elderly man is out on bail after being charged with stealing and handling a woman’s stolen $50 bill.

Sixty-eight-year-old Howard Williams appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with one count of theft and one count of handling stolen goods in connection to a stolen $50 bill.

The theft charge was later withdrawn as one can’t be charged with handling an item they are accused of stealing.

Williams pleaded not guilty to the handling stolen goods charge and was granted bail in the sum of $200 plus one surety of the same.

He met bail and is due back in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on February 22, 2023.
