By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City youth charged with stealing from his own sister was set free this week after the complainant dropped the charges.

Eighteen-year-old Kenroy Locario appeared in the Belize City Magistrates Court on Tuesday, answering to a single charge of theft.

Locario was accused of stealing his sister’s purse and a number of personal items to a total of $844.

While Locario pleaded not guilty to the charge, his sister appeared in court and took the stand, telling the Magistrate that she did not want any further court action. She went on to say that she would give him a second chance, because he had never stolen from her before.

The prosecutor offered no evidence in the case against Locario and as a result, the Magistrate struck out the matter for want of prosecution.
