By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: U.S. President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit Mexico next week to attend a North American Summit with leaders from Mexico and Canada, Reuters report.
The agenda includes discussions of supply chains, fentanyl, climate change, immigration, and drug cartels.
Statistics from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) indicate that the agency confiscated 379 million doses of fentanyl in 2022.
The DEA says that the confiscated amount is enough to kill every American.
Discussions could include the steps Mexico can take to stop the production and smuggling of fentanyl.
In addition, the detention of Ovidio Guzman, the son of Sinaloa’s cartel kingpin “El Chapo” is also expected to be discussed.
