Orange Walk Football Association to kick off Youth Tournaments, calls teams to sign up

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) is kicking off its Youth Tournaments on February 11 and is calling on teams to sign up by January 31.

“The football vibes can only continue to be better when football is being played around,” the OWFA said on Facebook.

“The Orange Walk Football Association is again starting its Youth Tournaments and we are making tournaments for everyone both in the male and female categories.

“If you are interested in forming a team and playing the U13, U15 or U17 tournament, then register your team now. We are excited to see all our youths active and playing football here in the Orange Walk District.”

The OWFA had a very successful set of youth tournaments last year and is hoping to repeat the effort. OWFA Technical Officer Elmer Pott said they are catering for six teams in each male and female category: Under-13, Under-15, and Under-17.

The children for the U-17 are those born in 2006 and 2007. Children for the U-15 should have been born in 2008 and 2009, while the U-13 are those born in 2010 or after.
