Belizean footballer Michael Salazar signs for United Soccer League Miami FC

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belizean footballer Michael Salazar will now be plying his trade in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship with Miami FC. The USL club made the announcement this week.

Salazar made the move from the LA Galaxy, the MLS club he had joined last February.

Before signing for the LA Galaxy, Salazar played for the MLS franchises Montreal Impact and the Houston Dynamo. The Montreal Impact drafted him from the University of California Riverside.

Salazar, who was born in New York grew up in Cayo, and is a member of the Belize Men’s National Team.

Miami FC Will play their season home opener on March 11 at the Florida International University (FIU) Stadium against FC Tulsa.

The USL is a tier under the MLS, the top league in the United States.
