By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: An official confirmed that 5 African migrants died and 10 were reported missing after a boat sank off Tunisia, Reuters report.

The migrants were trying to cross the Mediterranean to Italy.

On Friday, the coast guard reportedly rescued 20 migrants who had been on the overcrowded boat.

People fleeing poverty in Africa and the Middle East continue to leave with hopes for better opportunities in Europe.

There have been increased reports of migrants drowning off the Tunisian coast.
