Police officer convicted of two counts of sexual assault

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A police officer was convicted of two counts of sexual assault today in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

Forty-one-year-old Myrick Nicholas appeared before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, accused of touching the 24-year-old victim on her vagina and breasts.

He was sentenced to six months in prison for one count and eight months for the other.

His sentence takes effect as of today, Monday, January 9.
