By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Almost 90% of the residents in China’s Henan province are infected with COVID-19, Fox reports.

Director of the health commission, Kan Quancheng says that as of January 6, 2023, 89% of the residents had COVID-19.

Henan is China’s 3rd most populated province.

The recent increase in cases comes a month after China abandoned its strict zero-covid policy.

In addition, hospitals and medical centers in China are reportedly swamped to capacity forcing patients to sit on hallway floors.
