By Aaron Humes: Police continue to look for the person that knocked down and apparently killed 74-year-old Romaldo Che on the San Estevan Road on Sunday night, outside Orange Walk Town.

As detailed by Head of Police Eastern Division Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero: “Police visited the San Estevan Road around 9:30 p.m. where a report was received that there was a fatal road traffic accident. Upon arrival, they saw a male person motionless with several injuries to the body and a bicycle in the area. Investigation revealed that Romaldo Che, 74 years, was riding his bicycle in the area when he was knocked down by a vehicle [that] did not stop. We are seeking the public’s assistance to provide us with information regarding this fatal RTA.”

Family members add that his body was dragged several hundred feet, leaving his skull and left hand fractured.

Police investigations continue.
