Premier League of Belize changes Verdes-Bandits from Sunday to Wednesday, moves match to Belmopan

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Premier League of Belize (PLB) Closing Championship is kicking off this weekend but even before the first ball is kicked, the PLB has already made a schedule change.

The Verdes-Bandits which had been slated as a Verdes home game for Sunday, January 15, at 4:00 pm at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio, will now be played as a Bandits home game on Wednesday, September 18.

The match will be played at 7:30 pm at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium.

The PLB declined to say the reason or reasons for the schedule change, just that it was an ‘executive decision’.

Other than that, the other three games stand.

Champions Altitude will kick off the defence of their 2022-2023 Premier League of Belize Opening Championship against Benque United at 7:30 pm at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence on Saturday, January 14.

The San Pedro Pirates will play at the same time at Ambergris Stadium in San Pedro against Progresso FC.

The only Sunday match now will be Wagiya against Belize City’s Port Layola FC at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga at 4:00 pm.
