Six footballers in FFB Athlete Scholarship program visit Football Federation of Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Six footballers of the 18 studying in the United States under the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) Athlete Scholarship program visited the FFB in Belmopan on Tuesday.

The students who have been in Belize spending the Christmas holidays passed by the FFB before returning to their universities in the United States for the second semester.

The students are Carlene Tillett, Warren Moss, Gabriel Ramos Jr., Roshanny Narvaez, Stephanie Barrientos, and Sharyn Enriquez.

“During the session the athletes updated President Sergio Chuc and the FFB team about their experiences so far both on and off the field,” the FFB said in a social media post announcing the visit.

“We truly enjoyed hosting them and hearing all about their experiences, whether it was boasting about their new cooking skills or explaining all about the art of balancing the athlete-student lifestyle.”

The FFB said that it is committed to the continuous development of our young footballers on and off the pitch while applauding them for committing to furthering their studies.

“Through this program we hope to continue providing opportunities for more young men and women to further their education using football as a vehicle to access international opportunities,” the FFB said.

Last July, the FFB had a ceremony to see off 16 athletes who were then leaving for the United States.
