Belize City man charged for choke slamming his ex-girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-nine-year-old Keshawn Dennison is out on bail after being charged for attacking his ex-girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter at a school in Caye Caulker.

In a report made to police, the minor said she left her classroom to go to the bathroom when she was attacked by her mother’s ex-boyfriend, who allegedly grabbed her by the throat and slammed her to the ground, injuring her mouth and face.

Dennison appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, charged with a single count of wounding. He initially pleaded guilty to the charge but after the facts were read to him, he changed his plea to not guilty. He maintains that the allegations against him as presented were fabricated by the minor’s family.

Dennison was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same which he was able to meet. He is due back in court on March 30; however, the matter will be heard in Caye Caulker.
