Elderly American national beaten and robbed in his Santa Elena home

By Breaking Belize News: On Thursday, two men stormed the home of a retired American national, beat him up and robbed him, police say.

Reports are that 70-year-old John Wilcox was at his home in the Santa Cruz area of Santa Elena Town around 9:00 a.m. waiting for his contractor to arrive when the duo rushed inside and one of the two pointed a gun at him.

The men assaulted Wilcox and demanded money. He handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the men, who then tied him up in his bedroom and stole a number of personal items and documents before making their escape.

Police are investigating.
