International News: COVID-19 emergency hospitalizations in China have peaked

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, a Chinese health official said that COVID-19 fever and emergency hospitalizations have peaked, Reuters report.

Jiao Yahui, an official from the National Health Commission said that “the number of fever clinic visitors is generally in a declining trend after peaking, both in cities and rural areas.”
In addition, Jiao said that the number of patients in emergency treatment was also declining.

The number of severe cases has also peaked, she added.

 Shanghai Health Commission official, Wen Daxiang noted that the country China will strengthen health monitoring and management of the high-risk population.

China also plans to bolster the supply of drugs and medical equipment.

Grassroots medical workers will also receive training to combat COVID-19 in rural regions.
