By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, Miss Belize, Ashley Lightburn stunned at the 71^st edition of the Miss Universe pageant with her national costume.

The national costume is inspired by the first and only Jaguar Preserve in the world; which is nestled in the luscious rainforest of the Cockscomb Basin in Belize.

The costume depicts the jaguar in its natural habitat.

Insider featured Miss Belize’s costume as one of the “wildest” at the competition.

“Miss Belize Ashley Lightburn brought the rainforest to Miss Universe with her costume,” the feature noted.

“Her outfit featured a glittering green bodysuit with a flowing jaguar-print train that matched her knee-high jaguar-print boots. Attached to the back of Lightburn’s ensemble was a beautiful burst of tropical palm fronds and birds of paradise flowers,” it added.

Ashley gracefully represented Belize at the renowned international pageant.
