Seven years later Anne Swaney murder still unsolved; ABC 7 pays tribute to her memory

By Benjamin Flowers: Yesterday marked seven years since ABC 7 News executive producer Anne Swaney was found murdered in Belize, and in her memory, her colleagues paid tribute.

Swaney’s body was found floating in the Mopan River on January 15, 2016. It was determined that she was strangled.

Despite investigators from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) coming to Belize to assist with the investigation and a $20,000 reward issued for information leading to the person responsible, the murder remains unsolved.

One person was initially detained following the discovery of the body but was later released without any charges.
