Department of Environment extends condolences on passing of Vivian Ramnarace

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Department of the Environment (DOE) has joined the Fisheries Department in extending condolences to the family and friends of Vivian Belisle Ramnarace.

“Though Vivian was a member of the Belize Fisheries Department she also worked very closely with the Department of the Environment especially since she sat as an active member of the National Environmental Appraisal Committee (NEAC) for the past 10 years. She had such great expertise in the marine environment and a passion to protect it. Vivian was a intelligent, outgoing and dedicated individual in everything she was asked and given responsibility for,” the DOE noted.

“The Department is heartbroken to have found out about Vivian’s passing. We will surely miss your laughter, smiles, and jokes. We will long remember your energy and tenacity,” the DOE added.

Vivian passed away on January 15, 2023 after being shot multiple times on New Year’s eve.
