E.P. Yorke, Excelsior win in Central Secondary Schools Sports Association football championship kickoff

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: E.P. Yorke High School and Excelsior High School won their opening games in the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association (CSSSA) football championship kickoff on Tuesday, January 17, at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City.

E.P. Yorke boys blanked Anglican Cathedral College (ACC). Dominic Morgan scored the brace in the 23 and 25th minutes.

In the second game, Excelsior defeated St John’s College (SJC) 2-1. Kaylen McGoy gave Excelsior the 1-0 lead in the first. Kyle Hemsley tied the match at 1-1 in the second half, but Oveth Ramos put it away.

ACC meet EP Yorke in the CSSSA Girls’ Championship on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Gwen Liz High School boys face off with Wesley College in the second game at 5:20 pm. Both games will be played at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex.
