By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belmopan Bandits held Verdes to a 0-0 draw in the final game of the opening week in the Premier League of Belize’s Closing Championship.

In the delayed match played at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium on Wednesday night neither was able to do the other any damage with each one gaining only one point for their efforts.

In the other games played on the weekend, Port thrashed Wagiya 5-0, the San Pedro Pirates got a comfortable 2-0 win over Progresso, and Benque Viejo United stunned defending champions Altitude 1-0.
