International News: 5 Caribbean beauty ambassadors make Miss Universe’s top 16

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Of the 84 contestants that vied for the coveted Miss Universe crown in New Orleans, 5 Caribbean beauty ambassadors made the top 16, Loop reports.

Those included in the top 16 are Miss Puerto Rico: Ashley Carino, Miss Haiti: Mideline Phelizor, Miss Dominican Republic: Andreina Martinez, Miss Trinidad and Tobago: Tya Jane Ramey, and Miss Curacao: Gabriela Dos Santos.

In addition, Miss Curacao, Miss Dominican Republic, and Miss Puerto Rico were among the top 5 delegates to advance for the question and answer segment.

And among the final 3 was Miss Dominican Republic: Andreina Martinez.

Miss Dominican Republic was also announced as the second runner-up for the 71st edition of the prestigious pageant.
