U.S. Ambassador meets representatives of  Organization of American States, IDB

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On January 18, 2023, U.S. Ambassador to Belize, Michelle Kwan met with Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group Belize country representative, Ramiro Lopez Ghio.

Ambassador Kwan and Ghio discussed IDB’s strategy in Belize, the role of IDB Invest in supporting the private sector, and how both the United States and IDB can continue to support Belize’s economic development.

Ambassador Kwan also met with representative of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Belize, Luiz Coimbra.

They underscored their commitment to continuous support for Belize in areas of citizen security, human rights, and democratic institutions.

Discussions also included opportunities of partnership in the development of Belize and the region.
