By Benjamin Flowers: The Meta-owned platforms Facebook and Instagram are now allowing Trans and Non-Binary users to post pictures exposing their breasts.

The decision follows the victory of a Tans and Non-Binay couple winning an appeal to the company’s oversight board after the platforms removed images the couple had posted where their breasts were exposed.

The overseeing board at Meta then commissioned independent researchers that ordered the social media platforms to lift a ban on topless images for every user except biological females, the Daily Wire reports.

The board further recommended that Meta revise its Adult Nudity and Sexual Activity Community Standard in order for it to be governed by criteria that respect international human rights standards.

A spokesperson for Meta told The New York Post that the images were restored ahead of the board’s decision and that the images should not have been taken down in the first place.

“We know more can be done to support the LGBTQ+ community, and that means working with experts and LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations on a range of issues and product improvements,” the spokesperson said.
