By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On January 20, 2023, Minister of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology, Francis Fonseca and Chief Education Officer, Yolanda Gongora visited Escuela Secundaria Técnica México (ESTM) as part of the school’s activities celebrating 40 years since its founding.

During the visit, Fonseca and Gongora toured the school’s anniversary fair.

“They enjoyed the presentations made by students and clubs which included presentations on recycling and environmental consciousness, visual arts and culture, and of course, delicious food,” the Ministry noted.

ESTM was established in 1983 by the Government of Mexico as a friendly gesture in recognition of Belize’s independence.

ESTM is a technical/vocational high school that serves the community of San Roman and the northern area of the Orange Walk District.
