By Rubén Morales Iglesias: West Lake Port pounded Lake I 6-3 in Belize City Champions Cup semifinals and qualified to the Final.

On Friday night at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex, West Lake Port again proved too much for regular season leaders Lake 1. Last Monday, West Lake Port beat Lake I 2-0 in their last regular season match.

Jarret Davis hit a brace in the 72nd and 89 minutes after Leones Jones opened the score in the 17, followed by goals by Leon Jones (33’), Jahron Myvette (33’), Gilroy ‘Bredda’ Thurton (37’), and Shawn Young (47’).

Travion Martinez also scored a brace in the 11th and 35th minutes while Kenrick Ortiz converted in the 80th.

West Lake Port will now clash with the Freetown Kelly Street Bombers, who eliminated New Revolution 4-1, in the Final.

Lake I will match up against New Revolution for third place.
