Four-year-old child dies after injuries sustained in traffic accident

By Aaron Humes: A four-year-old boy was pronounced dead on Monday night at the Western Regional Hospital, Belmopan, after suffering multiple injuries in a traffic mishap.

According to Police, an unknown Hispanic man brought the child, identified as Javin Alvarez but other particulars not known, with wounds to the left side of his head and right back side of his head and bruises along the back, then left hurriedly.

The child died just after 8 p.m. while undergoing treatment.

Police have established that a red Toyota pickup truck overturned on the right side of the road from Valley of Peace to Belmopan. It was being driven by farmer Desi Alvarez of Valley of Peace and he was accompanied by four-year-old Javin.

Police investigation continues.
