By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, hundreds of public sector workers including teachers and nurses took to the streets of Venezuela to demand better salaries, Reuters report.
The Venezuelan economy is facing growing inflation.
This is the third protest held for 2023 where workers are demanding more pay.
The minimum wage of 130 bolivars a month ($6 US) was adjusted in March 2022.
A group of economists estimate that inflation in the country reached about 305% in 2022.
In addition, the Nicolas Maduro administration have said that U.S. sanctions have made it difficult to control consumer price growth.
Workers say all they are demanding is a dignified salary that a family can survive with.
