Police link previous shooting of Eufemio Garcia to weekend murder in Yo Creek

By Aaron Humes: One person is being sought by Police in the murder of Eufemio Garcia, 38, of Yo Creek, Orange Walk District, who was shot dead on Saturday night in front of a village store.

Garcia and three other persons were at the store when they were set upon by a single attacker, who shot Garcia multiple times and sent all four men to the Northern Regional Hospital.

Garcia was previously shot in the back in October of 2022 and police today confirmed they believe the two shootings are linked and possibly committed by the same person. However, no motive has been uncovered in either incident thus far and no one was held in connection with the first incident.

Police investigations continue.
