Port Layola’s Michael Palacio leads all Premier League of Belize goalscorers

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After two games, Port Layola’s Michael Palacio leads all 12 goalscorers with three conversions in the Premier League of Belize’s 2022-2023 Closing Championship.

Palacio scored two in the opening game which his team won 5-0 over Wagiya in Dangriga and he hit again this past Sunday against the Belmopan Bandits in Port’s 2-0 win.

His teammate Shawn Young and San Pedro Pirates’ pair of Mario Chimal and Luis Valdez follows with two each. Young and Valdez scored a brace each against Wagiya while Chimal scored one each against Progresso and Wagiya.

Eight other players follow with one goal each. These are Benque Viejo United’s Danny Jimenez, Pirates’s Facundo Garnier (Argentine) and Andir Chi, Port Layola’s Jarret Davis and Gilroy ‘Bredda’ Thurton, Verdes Mexican defender Marco Antonio Zavala, and Wagiya’s Kleron Cacho and Leston Garcia.
