Dead fisherman identified after apparently drowning in Haulover Creek

By Aaron Humes: The man whose body was retrieved on Monday afternoon from Haulover Creek near the Swing Bridge has been identified by police as Amado Ramos, Jr.

Ramos, a fisherman, was seen swimming in the area around a quarter past two, but went down thereafter and persons had to retrieve his body from the creek where it was placed in a small green vessel and then moved to the riverside behind City Hall.

Police viewing the body saw no sign of injury and Ramos was pronounced dead on arrival at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Investigations continue.
