By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: California is reeling from 2 mass shootings that left 18 people dead, Reuters report.

On Monday, an attack on farm workers in Half Moon Bay near San Francisco left 7 people dead.

On Saturday, residents had gathered at a ballroom dance club for the Lunar New Year celebration when the gunman entered and opened fire killing 11 people.

According to reports, the suspects in both attacks were men of retirement age.

Victims of both attacks are from immigrant communities.

Law enforcement authorities say they are yet trying to determine what sparked the attacks.

The attack at Half Moon Bay could have been work-related disgruntlement, officials say.

This latest spate of violence in California is the reportedly the worst in decades.
