Caribbean Rum Boyz clash with Louisiana as Orange Walk Football Association Championship Quarterfinals kick off on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Caribbean Rum Boyz take on homestanding Louisiana at the Louisiana Football Field in Orange Walk Town as the Orange Walk Football Association Championship Quarterfinals kick off on Sunday.

The match starts at 10:00 am.

Next, Progresso FC tackle Guinea Grass FC at 12:30 pm.

The third match features San Antonio FC against Mi Gente of Guinea Grass FC at 3:00 pm.

The day closes with the final match at 5:30 pm with the San Jose clash, San Jose FC matching up against the San Jose Pumas.

These are one-shot games that may require overtime and penalty kicks to decide winners in case of a draw.

San Antonio and Caribbean Rum Boyz qualified as the top two teams from Group A while San Jose Pumas and Progresso did likewise in Group B. Guinea Grass, San Jose, and Mi Gente from Group A and Louisiana from Group B qualified in extra playoff games among teams that finished from third to sixth places in both groups. In those playoffs last Sunday, Guinea Grass trampled the Red Devils 6-0, San Jose routed Trinidad 5-1, Mi Gente edged Charlie’s Cave Tubing 4-3, and Louisiana left Palmar behind in a 5-3 penalty-kicks shootout after a 0-0 draw.
