Soldiers hospitalized after traffic mishap on Coastal Road

By Aaron Humes: Two members of the Belize Defence Force are in hospital tonight in Dangriga after a traffic mishap on the Coastal Road this afternoon.

At about 2:50 p.m., Police responded to a report of a road traffic accident on Coastal Road between miles 14 and 15. Upon arrival, they observed a black Mazda with extensive damages.

Investigation revealed that two persons who were injured in the accident were transported to the Southern Regional Hospital. At the hospital, police spoke to Daniel Nathaniel Graham, a 32-year-old, Belize Defense Force Sergeant of Indianville, Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District, who stated that he was driving the said car and he was driving from the direction of La Democracia Village, Belize District, headed towards Punta Gorda Town.
Upon reaching between miles 14 and 15 he lost control of the vehicle and went into a ditch. At the time he was accompanied by another BDF soldier who is presently in critical condition at the Southern Regional Hospital.

Police are investigating.
