Court awaits psychiatric evaluation to determine if man charged with trespassing is fit to stand trial

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Belize City Magistrate’s Court is awaiting the results of a psychiatric evaluation for Daniel Aguilar, to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial.

Aguilar, who spent 90 days on remand at the Belize Central Prison on a charge of willful trespassing, was granted bail in the sum of $500 plus one surety of the same and released into the custody of his mother.

He was charged with the offense in late 2022.
