Man charged for unlawful sex with 12-year-old girl acquitted

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man accused of having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl was acquitted of the charge in the Supreme Court.

Charles Brown, represented by attorney Darrel Bradley, appeared before Justice Ricardo O’Niel Sandcroft in relation to the incident, which allegedly took place on September 18, 2017.

After reviewing the evidence, Justice Sandcroft determined that the testimony of the victim was not credible, and under those circumstances, acquitted Brown.

In a report to police, the minor said that she was at her aunt’s home when a man entered as a trespasser and forced her to have sex with him.
