Silk Grass mechanic survives stabbing attack after assailants tell him “You owe me”

By Aaron Humes: 42-year-old Orvin Palacio, a mechanic of Silk Grass, Stann Creek District, was treated for stab wounds following an assault at his residence on Saturday night.

According to Police, Palacio was in his yard working when two men arrived on motorcycle, one of Hispanic descent and the other dark-skinned.

The men both walked into his yard and the dark-skinned man walked to Palacio and told him, “Bwai, you owe me.” He then started to inflict stab wounds to his body.

They struggled and Palacio managed to take the knife from his attacker and run away as the men themselves fled.

Palacio was treated at the Southern Regional Hospital for injuries classified as wounding. He turned over a knife with stainless steel blade measuring about
eight inches with a black handle to the Police as the weapon allegedly used in the incident.

Two men from Hopkins village are being sought as Police investigations continue.
