United Democratic Party endorses former candidates to run in Orange Walk constituencies

By Aaron Humes: The United Democratic Party has announced that on Saturday, January 28, it held two endorsement conventions to officially swear in Standard Bearers for Orange Walk East and North constituencies.

Former representative and Minister of State Elodio Aragon Jr. was sworn in at 10:30 a.m. at the Orange Walk East office along with 15 Constituency Delegates and 5 Alternates. He faces incumbent and Minister of Health Kevin Bernard.

At 2 p.m., Carlos Zetina was sworn in as the Orange Walk North Standard Bearer along with 15 Constituency Delegates and 5 Alternates. He will likely take on Minister of State Ramon Cervantes Jr.

The Party is moving toward its slate of contested conventions in February, starting on February 5 in Belmopan where incumbent John Saldivar takes on former Government CEO and Belize Defence Force senior officer George Lovell as well as businessman Emil Torres.
