By Aaron Humes: King Charles III appears to be holding out the possibility of reconciliation with second son Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and his wife, the Latin Post reports, citing multiple sources.

The King, who will be formally crowned in May, prefers Harry and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, to attend, believing that their absence would cause more drama than their appearance while also indicating he had “no appetite” to engage with the Duke.

Charles, who unexpectedly ascended the throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth II last September, has reportedly asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to mediate between Harry and his elder brother William, Prince of Wales. According to sources, the monarch is reportedly offering Harry and Markle a “high-profile seating position” in the Abbey or an informal assurance that Harry will be able to keep his titles.

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) executives are allegedly working with palace aides to give an interview about Charles’ plans as a monarch, including addressing claims about the family’s relationships. It is believed that the BBC interview could show in the coronation coverage on May 6, conducted by long-term friend Jonathan Dimbleby, a scion of the famous broadcasting family.

Meanwhile, Prince William wants his younger brother and Markle to be away from Westminster Abbey after the release of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir “Spare.” William is reportedly against the attendance of his younger brother at their father’s coronation, saying that his main concern will be Harry overshadowing the event and using it as an opportunity for a “stunt,” according to The Independent.

Harry has earlier said that the “door is always open” for reconciliation, adding that the “ball is in their court” to reach out to him.

None of the prominent Royal family has made any public comment on claims made by the Duke in his memoir and associated Netflix docuseries, including an alleged fight between the brothers, as well as his memories of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, and the family’s handling of her passing in a car crash in France in August of 1997.
