By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing has been working on upgrading the sugar access roads in Northern Belize and says that work will continue for the duration of the sugar cane season.

“Work continues in the north to keep sugar roads easily accessible to our hard working cañeros,” the MIDH said.

“This is one of our teams on the Corozal Farmers Road doing spot patching and grading to alleviate the impacts of bad weather and heavy traffic,” the MIDH added in a social media post.

“These works will continue for the duration of the sugar cane crop season.”

In another post the MIDH said another crew was active on the Xaibe, Quinta and Tacistal sugar roads in the Corozal District.

“Each year before and during the crop season our crews do the work that needs to be done to ensure that our cane-farmers can get their sugar cane to the mill,” the MIDH said.
