By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Champions Altitude finally won a game in the Premier League of Belize Closing Championship on Saturday night when they downed Wagiya 3-1 in Southern Derby at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.

Rene Leslie got things going in the 9^th minute when he converted the opening goal.

Luis ‘Baca ‘ Torres increased the lead to 2-0 in the 66^th and then Colombian Andrés Orozco hit the third in the 70^th minute.

Aidan Nunez scored the consolation goal for Wagiya in the 76^th minute. That was Wagiya’s third straight loss.

Altitude now have four points from a win, a draw, and a loss. For the champs, these three goals were also their first after having gone blank in their first two outings. Three losses in a row are not what they had envisaged.

For Wagiya, this season doesn’t look too promising.
