U.S. Ambassador visit Coast Guard Forward Operating Base at Hunting Caye

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On January 27, 2023, United States Ambassador to Belize Michelle Kwan visited the Belize Coast Guard Forward Operating Base at Hunting Caye.

Ambassador Kwan was given an operational brief and tour of the island. 

Ambassador Kwan was also briefed on the capabilities and efforts in countering transnational organized crime in Belize’s southern waters.

“The United States Government, through different programs and initiatives over the years has supported the Belize Coast Guard in infrastructure development, acquisition of equipment, and most importantly training and capacity development of our officers and sailors.  We are truly grateful for this partnership,” the Belize Coast Guard noted.
