The Energy Ministry said nine entries were submitted from five high schools across Belize.

The students had to show how the “advancement of electricity services … makes our lives more efficient and productive with today’s increased global awareness, paving the way for more renewable and clean sources of energy in the future with interventions for low-carbon emissions”.

“The competition sought to raise awareness among students and educational institutions on the importance of climate action and sustainable energy transitioning and to probe interest in the Belize Sustainable Energy developments,” MPUELE said.

The Energy Ministry said the competition was fully funded by the European Union under an agreement with the Government of Belize to support sustainable developments in the energy sector.
