Police seeking trio that robbed delivery man in San Ignacio

By Aaron Humes: Police are awaiting a formal report of an armed robbery reported this morning in San Ignacio Town, Cayo District.

A delivery man told Police that he was on his way to do a deposit for his company when a grey 4-door Mitsubishi pulled in front of him right before the bump in front of the Centre for Employment Training (CET) compound. Three men exited the vehicle, all of Kriol descent, wearing black masks.

According to the delivery man, they approached him and told him to give them all that he has. He stated that he felt a knock to the left side of his head which made him fall over on the passenger seat, and then he heard a single gunshot.

Upon getting up he saw the said vehicle drive off in the direction of the Princess Casino. The robbers got away with his deposit bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash and cheques.

The victim was seen at San Ignacio Community Hospital with swelling to the left side of the forehead. He was issued with a pair of medico forms and advised to visit the San Ignacio Police station to give a formal report.

Police investigations are underway.
