By Rubén Morales Iglesias: FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated Premier League of Belize champions Altitude FC on Monday on their winning the 2022-2023 Opening Championship.

“It is with great pleasure that I congratulate Altitude FC for having been crowned champions of the opening season of the 2022-23 Premier League of Belize,” Infantino said in a letter sent to Football Federation of Belize (FFB) president Sergio Chuc.

“This title could not have been achieved without the entire team’s hard work, passion and dedication, and everyone at the club can be very proud. Please extend my congratulations to everybody involved in this great achievement.”

Altitude won the PLB Opening Season in the final over the Verdes on Sunday, December 11 after a 26-penalty-kick shootout which gave them a 11-10 win on penalty kicks following two consecutive draws.

The championship was the first Altitude have won.
