Ministry of Agriculture, Caricom Development Fund hold Beekeeping Productive Diversification training for Corozal, Orange Walk farmers

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise and the Caricom Development Fund held a one-day workshop on Beekeeping Productive Diversification for 25 participants from Corozal and Orange Walk.

The training workshop entitled ‘Beekeeping Productive Diversification Preparation of By-products with Honey’ was facilitated by Beekeeping and Honey National Coordinator Miguel Huertas.

The training topics included Infused Honey and Beeswax Candles and Mead. The Infused Honey included Honey Garlic, Honey Turmeric, Honey Ginger, and Honey Cocoa,.

MAFSE said all these products are used for medicinal purposes.

The 25 participants included beekeepers, high school students, and cooperative members.
