Motorcyclist hospitalized after a high-speed collision

By Aaron Humes: Police have issued a driver with a notice of intended prosecution following a traffic incident on the Philip Goldson Highway near Ladyville Airport Plaza on Friday morning.

Police responded just after seven-thirty to find a Lifan motorcycle on the left side of the highway traveling to Belize City and next to it the driver, 40-year-old Jose Ack of Ladyville with abrasions to his face and left hand. About 20 feet away was a white Kia Sorento with damage to the left rear backlight and bumper, driven by 27-year-old Guadalupe Uh, from Orange Walk Town.

The collision allegedly occurred when the motorcyclist tried to overtake the Kia from behind but ran into the back of the vehicle, lost control, and hit the pavement. He was taken by ambulance to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital as police investigations continues.
