Orange Walk Football Association 1st Division Semifinals set for Sunday at Louisiana Football Field

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Semifinals of the Kevin Bernard Orange Walk Football Association 1^st Division Championship will be played on Sunday afternoon at the Louisiana Football Field in Orange Walk Town.

The defending champions Caribbean Rum Boyz play the first semifinal against the San Jose Pumas at 3:00 pm.

The second semifinal between Progresso and San Antonio kicks off at 5:30 pm.

Extra time and penalty kicks may come into play to decide the winners.

Last week, the Caribbean Rum Boyz eliminated Louisiana 5-1. David Solorzano scored a brace while Jaheim Augustine, Alwin Zelaya, Shane Morgan converted one each. Armandos Chirinos struck the consolation goal for Louisiana.

Progresso doubled up on Guinea Grass 2-1 on goals by Jair Novelo and Ronaldo Westby. Oswaldo Chan converted the lone tally for Guinea Grass.

San Antonio got past Mi Gente 3-2 on a brace by Rigoberto Cardenas and another goal by Amilcar Orellana. Leonardo Can and Zender Ramirez scored for Mi Gente.

San Jose Pumas dropped San Jose FC 2-1 on a brace by Michael Rivas. Isaac Gillett shook the net for San Jose.
