Armed robbery at Independence Super Store: Suspects at large

By Aaron Humes: Police are awaiting a formal report of an armed robbery on Saturday night at the A+ Superstore located in Independence Village, Stann Creek District.

According to initial reports received by police, owner Jinhua Zhen was at the store along with cashier Norma Sanchez around a quarter to eight when two dark-skinned, masked men entered, one carrying a pump action shotgun who pointed it at him while the other went behind the counter and removed $1,300 from the cash register. The men then escaped.

Police have begun an investigation pending the formal report.
